Thailand's eastern seaboard is a traveler's heaven. Pattaya is probably the number 1 destination in the east, but the quickly developing beach paradise of Koh Chang is catching up. Koh Samet can actually be a longish but doable day trip from Bangkok. But Koh Samet has bungalows as well.
For golfers, the area is heaven. More than 20 full length gold courses and country clubs can charm hackers and low-handicappers alike. Members of in the Pattaya Sports Club gets some nice discounts on Greens fees.
Kids and adults alike will enjoy Thailand's great Khao Kaew zoo. Under the patronage of H. M. Queen Sirikit, the open-style zoo has a great animal population in an open setting. For those who have trouble with long walks, Khao Kaew has a night safari by tram, complete with dinner as a finale.
